Samsung presents the Galaxy II S

From 20h on Tuesday (28/06), the leading Brazilian mobile operators are selling the new smartphone from Samsung, the Galaxy S II. Made on national soil, the device is thinner, faster and lighter than its predecessor and will cost R $ 1,999.00. "It's a good price point for the premiere," said Silvio Stagni, vice president, Samsung Telecom, during the product launch in Sao Paulo.

The device features dual-core 1.2Ghz, 1.0Ghz chip against a first version. It has 27.4 inch screen, weighs 116 grams and has a thickness 8:49 mm, which makes it thinner than the iPhone from Apple. The operating system is Android 2.3, Google. The device also has internet access via Wi-Fi and 4G.

For corporate use, the S Galaxy II comes with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync software to synchronize email, calendar and tasks. Another program, Cisco WebEx, allows you to share desktops, browsers, applications and documents between users of the Galaxy.

Market

The initial release of the new model came in February this year in Barcelona, ​​Spain, and reached the first month, the mark of one million units. The expectation is that the Samsung smartphone surpasses its predecessor, the S Galaxy, which had about 16 million units globally and is the record for sales of the brand in Brazil. Samsung promises for next July's arrival tablet Galaxy Tab 8.9. With two releases, the president of Samsung Brazil, Jeongwook Kim, said he hoped to make the country the third largest market for the company. In 2009, Brazil was the No. 7 market for the company, and in 2010 moved up to 4th position.

Samsung is already the market leader in smartphone with Android operating system, with 41% share in 2010. According to Gartner, the devices with Android will reach half the global smartphone market in 2012.

According to the company, Galaxy S II will be released in over 120 countries and more than 140 mobile operators.
